Professional Children’s Photos - My Memories
When I was growing up, my mom took me to a professional photography studio every year to get my pictures taken. I now have a good record of how I looked from year to year, how I matured and grew. I can’t remember much about the experience of being photographed. This was really about the process of taking the images for the sake of keeping a record, but they were not about me. Who I was. What I liked. This type of experience had nothing to do with my mom or the photo studio. That was the time of film photography. Creativity was not in style back then.
Below are just some of the images that survived the test of time. I am eternally grateful I have these. I am appreciative that I can now show my daughter what her mamma looked like when she was little. These bring back so many memories and emotions. I would love to also remember who I was back then. What I loved. But I can’t.
Custom Birthday Photography - The Present
When it came to taking birthday pictures of my little one, I decided that the sessions will be all about who she is and our family. So starting with her second birthday, I put together custom birthday sets for her every year. I ask her to open her presents during the photoshoot. I photograph her emotions. We do a family portrait. This innocent child happiness is so short lived, I want to absorb and keep it all.
I print an album EVERY YEAR. The album includes the custom planned photo session, the images from the birthday celebration, and any other activities that we do around this day.
I truly believe that in the future, I will have a chance to share this with other parents and to bring this experience. Please do join my Facebook VIP group where we discuss photo session ideas, styles and locations.
